Hello, my beautiful yogis! š§āāļø Iām Aura Arden, and today Iām sharing some of my favorite gentle yoga poses that help melt away stress and boost your energy. You donāt need to be a yoga proāthese poses are perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a peaceful reset. Letās flow together!
1. Childās Pose (Balasana)
Childās Pose is my go-to for grounding and relaxation. Kneel on the floor, bring your big toes to touch, and sit back on your heels. Stretch your arms forward, rest your forehead on the mat, and breathe deeply. This pose releases tension in the back and shoulders while calming your mind.
2. Cat-Cow Pose (Marjaryasana-Bitilasana)
This dynamic duo is perfect for waking up your spine. Start on all fours with your wrists under your shoulders and knees under your hips. Inhale as you arch your back (Cow Pose), and exhale as you round it (Cat Pose). Repeat for 5-10 breaths, moving with your breath.
3. Downward Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)
Downward Dog is great for stretching your entire body and energizing your system. From all fours, lift your hips up and back to form an inverted āVā shape. Keep your hands shoulder-width apart and your feet hip-width apart. Breathe deeply and feel the stretch through your hamstrings and back.
4. Seated Forward Fold (Paschimottanasana)
This pose is amazing for releasing stress and calming your mind. Sit with your legs extended in front of you, and gently fold forward, reaching for your feet or shins. Donāt worry about touching your toesājust let your upper body relax over your legs.
5. Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose (Viparita Karani)
Finish your session with this deeply restorative pose. Lie on your back and extend your legs up against a wall. Rest your arms by your sides and close your eyes. This pose improves circulation, reduces fatigue, and feels like a mini-vacation for your body.
Flow into Calm
These gentle yoga poses are perfect for a quick stress relief session or as part of your daily routine. Remember, yoga isnāt about perfectionāitās about connecting with your breath and body in a way that feels good for you.
